Mac to School announces Carlos A. Garcia as national director of K12 buyback program

Company slates $10M in 2015 to buy back Apple devices from K12

Mac to School, a leading provider of K-12 recertified Apple technology, has brought on former K12 tech director Carlos A. Garcia as its national director of purchasing.

Garcia spent more than a decade working in education, orchestrating and supporting large technology implementations in districts around California. He has also worked as an account executive for PartStock Computer, where he was responsible for all sales in the company’s southwest region. He holds a master’s degree in educational technology from Pepperdine University.

“Carlos’ background as a tech director gives him a unique perspective on and understanding of K-12 IT needs,” said Robert Baker, the co-founder and chief marketing officer of Mac to School. “We are very excited to have him on the team, and I’m confident he will help us grow our expanding buyback program even more.”

In 2015, Mac to School is looking to buy back more than $10 million in Apple inventory from U.S. schools and districts. As the national director of purchasing, Garcia will work with administrators that are looking to make room in their budgets by offloading older machines to purchase newer EdTech. By selling their older assets back to Mac to School, districts can lessen the financial impact of a big EdTech purchase.

“As a former tech director, I know and understand the challenges that my current counterparts face. Providing them an easy option to make more room in their budget allows them to focus more time on their students,” said Garcia. “I am thrilled to join the Mac to School team and look forward to furthering their mission of providing the best recertified option available for school districts using Apple products.”

Mac to School makes it a top priority to keep each machine they recertify in education, whether they are made available for purchase at a lower cost or donated through their Give Mac program.
