Defined Learning announced its latest extension to Defined STEM, the Portfolio Assessment Manager. District administrators can use the Portfolio Assessment Manager to share assessments with all of their teachers to ensure that they assign and assess the standards, skills, and competencies the school district wants to meet. Teachers can choose the standards, skills, and competencies they feel are appropriate for any assignment, all while tracking their students’ progress.
EDUCATIONAL DATA SYSTEMS LOCATEMYSCHOOL
Educational Data Systems announced an update for LocateMySchool. It now provides 24/7 access to important school boundary information, directions from an entered address, and contact info in one application. LocateMySchool is a Webbased software-as-a-service that offers access to accurate school boundary maps and customized locations such as bus stops and after-school centers, a familiar Google Maps interface, multi-language support and Google Translate features, and live customer service and support.
GAGGLE SAFETY MANAGEMENT FOR G SUITE SOLUTION ADD-ON
Gaggle announced the release of an important add-on to its Safety Management for G Suite solution and support for the Canvas Learning management system. School districts that use G Suite for Education from Google now can safely allow their students to use Hangouts. Gaggle’s algorithms reveal potentially harmful content in Hangouts Chat, and trained professionals evaluate suspicious content, alerting school officials of unsafe situations and even contacting local law enforcement when time is of the essence.
